Property Retrieval

The Caledonia County Sheriff's Office does provide a security standby for a property retrieval. There is a $50.00 per hour fee. All items that are being retrieved must be agreed upon by both parties, otherwise both parties will need to go to court to work out ownership.
Requests for property retrievals need to be made a week in advance, due to scheduling.
Property retrievals are not done in the evenings or on the weekends


Uniformed Division

This division is responsible for providing all uniformed services of the Caledonia County Sheriff's Office. Click here for more information


VIN Verification

The Caledonia County Sheriff's Office provides VIN Verification's in Caledonia County. It is NOT recommended to show up at the office, as many times there is no one available to do the VIN check. Please Call the office at 802-748-6666 to request your VIN verification.


 Starting OCTOBER 1, 2024, there will be a $5.00, per VIN administrative fee for all VINS that are not in our contracted patrol towns. Those towns are St. Johnsbury, Lyndonville, Sheffield, Wheelock, Peacham, Stannard and Hardwick.


Fingerprinting

We are now a fingerprinting station!

There is a $35 fee per set of fingerprints that need to be taken. Either exact cash or check. WE DO NOT TAKE CREDIT/DEBIT CARDS.

 Two forms of Identification are required, one being a photo I.D.


Transport Division

The Transport Division is responsible for providing transport services of persons in custody of the State of Vermont. The movement of these persons is performed by the Caledonia County Sheriff's Office where legally mandated, or when the use of our staff is necessary to keep a person safe from harming themselves, or others. This division is responsible for providing the service of civil process in Caledonia County, which often includes orders from the Vermont Superior Court.
